July: Ride Mass Transit District - Illinois
In true summer fashion, July is flying by at warp speed! But, with this new month comes a new opportunity to showcase another one of our awesome customers and the great work they’re doing in their community.
This month, we’re highlighting Rides Mass Transit District for the exceptional services they provide in the state of Illinois. Currently, RMTD provides transportation to more counties in Illinois than any other provider in the state: 18, to be exact! And, in June, they began a partnership with Southern Illinois University Carbondale to provide Saluki Express bus services, using CTS’ new deviated fixed-route solution and ParaPass (CTS’ rider ticket module).
"We are very excited about what this partnership will mean for the students and the residents of the area," said RMTD CEO Bill Jung. "Not only will this enhance the availability to travel around Carbondale and the SIU campus, but enhance connectivity across the entire urban area."
In addition to being able to access the Saluki Express routes, SIU students will now be able to use all of RMTD's services throughout its 18-county service area for the same transportation fee. Similarly, the public will now have access to Saluki Express routes using RMTD passes or tickets.
